    Pathology

Our clinic is equipped with the latest in-house IDEXX pathology and laboratory technology, allowing us to perform a comprehensive range of diagnostic tests on-site. These include haematology (blood counts), biochemistry, hormone assays, coagulation profiles, blood gas analysis for critically ill patients, cytology and urinalysis. In emergency situations, many results can be available within minutes, enabling our veterinarians to diagnose conditions and begin treatment promptly.

Some tests, such as biopsies, histopathology, and bacterial cultures, require submission to an external laboratory. These results typically take longer to process, and our veterinarians will advise you of the expected turnaround time for those results.

    Surgery

Our experienced veterinarians perform a wide range of surgical procedures, from routine desexing operations to more advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries. Our fully equipped operating theatre features a Cardell anaesthetic monitor, which continuously tracks heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen and carbon dioxide levels, blood pressure, core body temperature, and ECG readings. To help maintain patient comfort and safety throughout surgery, we utilise a Darvall heated breathing circuit, warmed intravenous fluids, and a heat mat to support normal body temperature. Throughout every procedure, our veterinary nurses provide continuous patient monitoring. Procedures requiring a less sterile environment, such as dental treatments, are performed in our dedicated wet procedures area.

    Dentals

Plaque and tartar build-up occurs when food particles, hair, and bacteria accumulate beneath the gum line. This creates ongoing irritation and infection of the gums, known as gingivitis. If left untreated, gingivitis can progress to periodontal disease, which may result in loose, damaged, or lost teeth.

As dental disease advances, infection can spread to the jawbone and, in some cases, the facial sinuses. Bacteria and inflammatory toxins can also enter the bloodstream, potentially affecting other organs and contributing to broader health problems.

A professional dental scale and polish removes plaque, tartar, and infection, helping to improve your pet’s oral health, comfort, and breath quality. Dental procedures are performed as day surgeries from Monday to Friday, and dental x-rays can be taken when required to assess underlying root and bone health.

Dental examinations are routinely included as part of your pet’s annual health check to help identify and address any dental concerns early.

    Imaging

Our clinic has digital x-ray equipment, minimising your pet’s exposure to x-rays and enabling us to undertake x-rays quickly with sharp images. We can also perform ultrasounds if required.

    Pharmacy

We have a very well stocked pharmacy with a range of medications on hand to treat your pet’s condition. If the medication required is not in stock and is needed urgently, we can usually order it in within 24 hours.
